Branding

Of course this definately falls in the "running before we can walk" catergory but hell, its 2.30am, I'm hopped up on caffeine and writing a windows app to perform call centre reporting and am excited by this whole project.

Without getting ahead of ourselves, and for those of us who aren't hard core soldereers (that was suppossed to be typed as solderers but I like it better this way) how about a discussion on names, even if its just a "production name" for us to call it something whilst building it before giving it a proper name on launch.

In the Flickr thread I suggested STOP (and made a bad MC hammer joke) for Strobist Trigger Opensource Project.

David "the sun shines out of my speedlight" hobby suggested SPOT as a variation on this, I'm sure someone out there can do a lot better though!!!

I'll repeat my endorsement of I-forget-who's suggestion of "Strobot".

Temporary working name

Postby Thonord » Sat Sep 22, 2007 12:57 pm

Wh dont we do like the big guys and have a working title while the real name matures.

City names like chicago or cairo or Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantysiliogogogoch.

Kitchen Sync.

Then you can claim to even have the Kitchen Sync in your camera bag.

"Have you remembered to pack the Kitchen Sync dear?"

I personnaly think "Hobbytrigger" is a pretty lame name :)

"strobist" is enough.

(some word with strobist in it)
Please note: It's STROBIST, not Stobist :)
